Sales Intern - Healthcare Technology

About the role

Medtronic, a global healthcare technology company, is offering a 12-month full-time Sales Intern internship in Bloemfontein (Free State) and Gqeberha (Eastern Cape), starting in November 2026. The internship gives exposure to the medical technology industry, with field-based and office-based work and regular travel to customer facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support customer engagement and account management alongside Sales Representatives and Clinical Specialists
• Assist with clinical and technical support, including product demonstrations, case preparation, procedure support, customer training and educational initiatives under supervision
• Coordinate administrative and operational tasks such as quotations, purchase-order follow-up, reporting, presentations, customer inquiries and record keeping
• Assist with inventory and consignment management to ensure product availability and stock accuracy
• Build knowledge of Medtronic products, therapies, disease states and healthcare pathways
• Collect and share market insights, customer feedback and competitive intelligence through approved channels
• Maintain accurate records and comply with company policies, quality standards, regulatory requirements and ethical practices

Required profile

• Recently graduated with a degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Nursing, Business or Marketing
• Able to travel to support customer needs
• Currently unemployed, a South African citizen and under 30 years old
• No previous participation in a YES programme and no current or planned postgraduate studies
• Commitment to complete the 12-month internship
• Plus: a valid driver's licence, strong communication skills, and previous exposure to a clinical, theatre, healthcare or medical technology environment

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Teams
