Relationship Banker - Private Banking (Signature)

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring a Relationship Banker for its Private Banking (Signature) business in Cape Town. The role delivers a deep, relationship-based offering through value-adding client engagement, portfolio management and tailored financial solutions that enhance the client experience, deepen relationships and support sustainable profitability for the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Private Banking clients through proactive, value-adding engagement.
• Drive portfolio growth through retention, cross-selling, sales delivery and identification of new client opportunities.
• Understand client needs and recommend suitable banking, lending, wealth and digital solutions.
• Support quality credit applications, annual credit reviews and effective portfolio administration.
• Manage client queries, complaints, digital adoption, risk and compliance requirements in line with bank standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce, Advanced Diploma or equivalent NQF 7 or higher qualification in Finance, Business Commerce, Accounting or a related field, FAIS recognised or FAIS aligned.
• Incumbent must meet the Fit and Proper requirements.
• 2 to 4 years' experience with affluent, private banking or relationship-managed clients.
• Experience in sales, service, relationship management, credit applications and financial solutioning within financial services.
• Sound exposure to client portfolio management, including identifying needs, recommending solutions and supporting retention.
• Lending, credit processes, financial analysis and client review experience is advantageous.
