Senior IT Internal Audit Professional

About the role

Fugro's global Internal Audit team, based in Nootdorp, The Netherlands, is looking for a Senior IT Internal Audit Professional to join its Cape Town office. The role involves international travel (15-20%) with a colleague and work in several locations worldwide, and calls for cultural sensitivity, integrity and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and take part in international IT audit engagements covering business processes, organisations, projects and reporting processes
• Coordinate and lead audit activities from the office and during international assignments, working with Internal Audit colleagues, IT specialists and business stakeholders
• Act as a sparring partner for local, regional and corporate management, giving independent insight into IT risks, controls and governance
• Suggest follow-up activities for observations and propose improvements to raise process levels
• Maintain audit quality, focusing on the efficiency and effectiveness of IT processes and controls
• Keep up to date with cybersecurity, cloud, AI, data, digital transformation and IT governance, and apply relevant developments to audits
• Develop professional competencies and network across the organisation

Required profile

• Master's degree, preferably in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
• Relevant professional qualification such as CISA, CIA, CISM, CISSP or CA (SAICA), or working towards it; willingness to obtain CIA
• 7+ years of relevant experience; a background in internal auditing or a "big four" firm is preferred
• Sound understanding of Internal Audit standards
• Strong written, communication and English language skills
• Availability to travel for business; cultural sensitivity is key
