Project Manager – Mechanical Engineering (NDT)

About the role

The company seeks a Project Manager to lead field‑based mechanical engineering projects, ranging from boiler maintenance and valve installation to large‑scale mechanical overhauls. You will coordinate teams, manage documentation, and ensure safe, on‑time delivery of projects in heavy‑industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring tasks are scheduled correctly.
• Liaise with engineers and workshop staff to confirm technical specifications and fabrication status.
• Secure and manage all project documentation, including safety files, drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Identify material requirements early and coordinate with procurement to avoid shortages.
• Lead on‑site personnel, including technicians, artisans, and subcontractors, enforcing safety and productivity standards.
• Coordinate equipment, tools, and vehicles needed for project execution.
• Provide real‑time updates to planning tools and monitor progress.
• Serve as primary contact for client representatives and inspectors (AIA, NDT, etc.).
• Handle disputes, negotiate approvals, and manage client expectations and variation orders.
• Resolve on‑site issues independently and make swift decisions aligned with company values.
• Collaborate with Workshop Manager and General Manager during unplanned events such as equipment failures or absenteeism.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2+ years of field‑based mechanical project experience.
• At least 2+ years of team leadership in an engineering project environment.
• Heavy industrial engineering experience preferred.
• Experience working with NDT, AIA, and safety documentation.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
