Professional Architect – Data Centre

About the role

AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team is seeking a Professional Architect to lead data centre projects in South Africa. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality architectural designs and ensuring seamless coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver architectural discipline involvement across data centre projects.
• Develop comprehensive design solutions, including calculations, technical drawings and engineering reports.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with briefs, specifications and industry standards.
• Manage design coordination with architecture and cross‑disciplinary teams for integrated solutions.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, specifications, construction drawings and as‑built records.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders to communicate design intent and resolve queries.
• Review and approve construction activities to ensure adherence to approved designs and quality standards.

Required profile

• BArch or BSc in Architecture.
• Over 8 years of experience as an architect.
• Registered as a full Professional Architect (SACAP).
