Production Supervisor – Apparel Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead our garment manufacturing line at Prestige Clothing in Maitland. You will ensure efficient line set‑up, balance staff utilisation and meet hourly production targets while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify training needs to develop a multi‑skilled production line.
• Attend pre‑production meetings and ensure line changeovers are completed quickly.
• Set up the line according to the line‑balancing sheet and perform line balancing to maximise staff utilisation.
• Follow the Production Plan, report deviations and keep downtime to a minimum by reporting faulty equipment immediately.
• Maintain accurate bundle sheet information, WIP levels and ensure deliveries meet cutting orders and POM.
• Report non‑conformances, enforce needle policy and discipline employees for misconduct or poor performance.
• Record downtime on the MIS, conduct capacity checks and return completed trims to the trim store.

Required profile

• Grade 10 qualification.
• At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the clothing industry.
• Clear criminal record and good references.
• Knowledge of garment construction.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
