Process Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Engineering team in Springs. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will drive operational excellence by applying engineering expertise to optimise production processes, improve equipment performance and lead sustainability initiatives across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed mass and energy balances to verify process capability, identify inefficiencies and support optimisation projects.
• Develop, maintain and analyse Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for process understanding and compliance.
• Lead capital and operational projects, including scope development, design reviews, contractor management, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Perform operational analysis such as downtime studies, efficiency tracking, performance benchmarking and equipment reviews.
• Participate in multi‑disciplinary problem‑solving teams using TPM methodologies.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations (pressure drop, line sizing, pump selection) for design changes and system upgrades.
• Apply chemical, mechanical and process engineering principles to improve throughput and address deviations.
• Implement global best practices to standardise processes, drive sustainability and enhance safety.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Safety and Operations to ensure food‑safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead data‑driven decision making through statistical analysis, trending and interpretation of production data.
• Champion process safety by identifying, assessing and mitigating risks.
• Support technology evaluations, feasibility studies and utility usage analysis (steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration).
• Maintain rigorous documentation, change control and engineering governance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (BTech/BEng).
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated project ownership with measurable technical contributions.
• Leadership ability and capability to facilitate problem solving in a team environment.

Required skills
