Patient Services Manager - Hospital Group

About the role

The Patient Services Manager oversees all patient-facing administrative functions in a hospital group in Klerksdorp, ensuring a seamless patient journey, service excellence and operational efficiency across admissions, reception and support services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient services operations in line with the hospital's standard operating procedures
• Ensure a positive patient experience across all touchpoints
• Lead and manage patient services staff, including performance management, training and development
• Monitor patient flow to improve efficiency and reduce waiting times
• Ensure accurate patient registration, billing coordination and documentation
• Handle escalated patient concerns and complaints
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing and finance teams on patient care and billing
• Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and run service improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data protection and confidentiality
• Develop policies and procedures, plan resources and staffing schedules, and take part in audits, quality assurance and accreditation
• Collect post-discharge debts from funders and patients

Required profile

• At least 5 years in hospital administration or patient services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of hospital operations, patient flow and customer service standards
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality and funder rules
• Leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure
• Flexible working hours and a driver's licence with own transport
