Job description

About the role

A non-profit organisation operating in the healthcare sector, which supports medical initiatives and works with healthcare professionals and international partners, is looking for a Quality Coordinator in Cape Town. The role supports the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS). Quality, compliance and accurate documentation are essential to its work.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate quality-related activities and workflows across departments.
  • Maintain and manage quality documentation, including policies, procedures, manuals, forms and records.
  • Review, proofread and update controlled documents for accuracy, consistency and compliance.
  • Support internal audits and preparations for external audits.
  • Assist with quality reporting, presentations and tracking of departmental quality metrics.
  • Coordinate quality improvement initiatives and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Maintain change control records and support the implementation of updated processes.
  • Assist with internal training on QMS procedures and requirements.

Required profile

  • Matric, preferably with a BTech in Quality Management or a related qualification.
  • 2-4 years' experience in a structured Quality Management System in healthcare, medical services or a closely related regulated sector.
  • 2-4 years' experience in document control and in internal and external audit preparation.
  • Sound understanding of quality management principles, regulatory compliance and standards such as ISO; knowledge of WMDA standards is advantageous.
  • Experience must be relevant to healthcare or medical services; food production, food safety or general manufacturing quality control alone does not meet the requirements.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PDF.
  • Strong document review, proofreading and reporting skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities, good attention to detail and cross-departmental communication.

The position is based in Cape Town and may involve occasional national travel for training or meetings. The salary is negotiable and market related, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
