Operations Duty Supervisor

About the role

The Operations Duty Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily airport operations, ensuring that all staff and service providers meet required service standards and efficiency targets. This role coordinates operational planning, monitors performance, and drives continuous improvement to maintain high‑quality service for passengers and airline partners.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily airport operations and ensure staff adhere to service standards.
• Monitor service provider SLA compliance and enforce procedural requirements.
• Plan and manage staffing levels across all departments, including internal staff and external service providers.
• Conduct shift briefings, prepare daily shift and delay reports, and ensure timely handover to the next shift.
• Maintain open and properly equipped check‑in counters and ensure all flights depart as scheduled.
• Track OTP, schedule changes, and any operational impacts, communicating promptly with relevant parties.
• Oversee equipment availability, stock levels, and report shortages to appropriate departments.
• Investigate incidents, enforce disciplinary actions for non‑compliance, and address passenger or staff complaints.
• Perform spot checks on internal and external stakeholders and attend stakeholder meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized office environment and ensure equipment is secured and well‑maintained.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• 2‑4 years of experience in an airline or aviation environment (passenger services, ramp services, or baggage handling).
• No criminal or credit record.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends.
• Knowledge of airside and terminal operations.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and maintain a customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Computer literacy (proficient with standard office software and airport communication platforms).
