Airport Services Supervisor (Durban)

About the role

Emirates is seeking an experienced Airport Services Supervisor to ensure timely, efficient and professional service at its Durban operations, coordinating internal and external agencies while upholding safety, security and commercial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate internal and external agencies, including handling agents, service providers, airlines and authorities.
• Analyse operational problems such as over‑bookings, adverse weather, delays or crew limitations and implement remedial actions.
• Brief handling agents, caterers and other service providers on Emirates’ daily requirements and update information as needed.
• Ensure post‑flight activities are completed correctly to protect revenue and manage customer and dead‑load handling.
• Process baggage claims, control expenditure on damaged or lost baggage replacements.
• Support ticket desk duties, conduct credit‑card verification and travel‑document checks.
• Coach and develop airport services agents, assist in performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Liaise with service providers and supervise contracted staff for catering, cleaning and maintenance to maintain service standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum four years’ airline industry experience.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Eligible to live and work in South Africa.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of reservations, fares and ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of baggage tracing and claims handling.
• Familiarity with departure control systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Email and Excel (advantageous).
