Membership Director – Private Members' Club

About the role

The Membership Director will lead the commercial and cultural engine of a prestigious private members' club in Cape Town. Reporting to the General Manager, you will own the full member lifecycle, drive revenue, and shape experiences that keep an influential membership deeply engaged.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of membership revenue, setting and achieving acquisition and retention targets.
• Oversee all membership operations – applications, onboarding, renewals, and CRM – ensuring premium touchpoints.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline with clear visibility on conversion, forecasting, and churn.
• Cultivate lasting relationships with prospective and existing members, acting as a trusted face of the club.
• Monitor engagement and satisfaction data to continuously refine the member experience.
• Develop and implement a structured onboarding programme that fosters long‑term loyalty.
• Lead the curation and delivery of a commercially successful and culturally compelling events calendar.
• Ensure every experience reflects the club’s identity and exceeds member expectations.

Required profile

• 7+ years proven experience in luxury hospitality, 5‑star hotels, or high‑end community building.
• Demonstrated success driving revenue growth while preserving a premium product.
• Comfortable interacting with UHNW clientele and high‑profile individuals.
• Strong commercial mindset and relationship‑driven approach.

Required skills

• Experience managing membership lifecycles and CRM processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate large‑scale events.
• Deep understanding of luxury hospitality standards and lifestyle branding.
