Membership Director – Private Club

About the role

The Membership Director will be the central figure driving the commercial and cultural engine of a prestigious private members' club in Cape Town. Reporting to the General Manager, you will own the full member lifecycle, lead a dedicated team, and shape experiences that keep an influential membership deeply engaged.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of membership revenue, setting and achieving acquisition and retention targets.
• Oversee all membership operations – applications, onboarding, renewals, and CRM – ensuring every touchpoint reflects the club’s quality.
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline with clear visibility on conversion, forecasting, and churn.
• Lead the curation and delivery of a culturally compelling events calendar, collaborating with Food & Beverage and operations for flawless execution.
• Guard the club’s brand voice and visual identity across all marketing and communications channels.
• Drive a membership marketing strategy spanning CRM, social media, PR, and partnerships.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in membership, marketing, hospitality, or community leadership.
• Commercially minded with a strong relationship‑driven approach.
• Culturally aware and attuned to luxury hospitality and modern community building.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex member experiences.
