Materials Co-ordinator

About the role

The Materials Co-ordinator is responsible for overseeing stock levels, ensuring efficient warehouse operations and supporting both internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to managing inventory, reducing losses, and maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve operational targets aligned with strategic business objectives.
• Manage stock efficiently, limit losses and write‑offs.
• Provide effective service to all relevant stakeholders.
• Stand‑in duties and act as a backup for the Dry Goods team.
• Lead and motivate the Dry Goods team, ensuring competent staffing.
• Participate actively in stock‑takes as required.
• Maintain accurate administrative housekeeping and adhere to company policies.
• Oversee the forklift fleet and ensure safe, effective use.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric Certificate (Grade 12); a National Diploma or Degree in Logistics/Warehousing is advantageous.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in a stores or warehouse environment.
• Administrative or production experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, accurately and under pressure.
• Team‑player with willingness to work day and night shift patterns.
• Good interpersonal skills and a proactive, creative attitude.
