Leisure & Aircrew Executive

About the role

The Leisure & Aircrew Executive at The Westin Cape Town reports to the Director of Event Booking Centre and handles client enquiries about leisure group business, including Cruise, Series, Leisure and Airline groups. The role covers both telephone and email enquiries, with service delivery aligned to Marriott International policies and procedures and The Westin's service standards. It is a high-pressure position focused on accuracy, revenue integrity and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to leisure, series, cruise and airline enquiries within a 24-hour turnaround, managing group blocks for all categories
• Quote STO, cruising contracted and leisure group rates
• Build group blocks, send contract addenda and invoices on time
• Manage group status from quoting to confirmation within the 45-day cancellation period and validate rates once the status changes to TE1
• Build airline group blocks and update the grid according to manifests
• Enter group rooming lists, cross-check them and ensure billing instructions and routing are set up on all rooms before arrival
• Send group resumes for confirmed arrivals at least three days before arrival
• Sell hotel products by highlighting features and benefits, and review new leisure blocks daily against company guidelines
• Take part in leisure agent site inspections if required and adhere to all standards, policies and procedures

Required profile

• A recognised qualification in Event Management or Hotel Management is preferable
• Minimum two years' experience in group booking, sales or STO and leisure
• Extensive knowledge of sales and catering and hospitality operating systems such as Fidelio Opera
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to work without supervision
