Learning and Development Manager

About the role

The Learning and Development Manager will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of technical and vocational learning programmes for RCL Foods' manufacturing business. Reporting to the Group HR Executive, the role is based in Pretoria West and focuses on building capability that supports the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct organisation‑wide training needs analysis using skills matrices and competency gap data.
• Develop and integrate annual skills frameworks into talent and HR strategies.
• Oversee Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and align the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) with priority capabilities of the baking operating business.
• Execute the L&D strategy across milling, bread, buns, rolls, pies and specialty units.
• Design, deliver and continuously improve learning programmes, blending instructor‑led and technology‑enabled methods.
• Manage budgets, SETA funding, SARS rebates, B‑BBEE targets and track ROI on skills levies.
• Produce L&D dashboards, insights and collaborate through Learning Forums.
• Select, contract and manage external training providers, ensuring content quality and alignment with RCL standards.

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, HRD, Organisational Development, Learning, Industrial Psychology or related field (NQF Level 7).
• 10+ years of experience in HR Learning & Development, Talent Management or related areas.
• Proven ability to lead strategic training and workforce development initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
