Information Security Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Information Security Specialist to join our embedded cyber resources team in Johannesburg on a 6‑to‑12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role operates as an extension of the central cyber function, working closely with engineering and platform teams to embed security throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to integrate security requirements into product development.
• Support and promote Secure SDLC and DevSecOps practices across projects.
• Assist with risk assessments, compliance activities, and remediation efforts.
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate security findings and recommendations.
• Provide generalist cybersecurity expertise without focusing on niche specialisms.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a generalist information security professional.
• Ability to work effectively within cross‑functional engineering environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Willingness to operate on a 6‑to‑12‑month renewable contract.
