Head of Finance

About the role

As the Head of Finance for Discover Africa Group, you will own the financial management, reporting, control and commercial finance functions across the company’s portfolio of travel and tourism businesses. You will provide accurate, timely financial information to senior leaders, safeguard cash flow, manage foreign‑exchange exposure and deliver strategic insight that drives sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business strategy into financial plans, forecasts, budgets and commercial priorities.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling revenue, margin, expense and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Develop financial models for demand shifts, exchange‑rate changes, supplier pricing and operating cost variations.
• Provide analysis on profitability, pricing, margins, investment decisions and cost management.
• Support commercial negotiations with margin, cash‑flow, currency and scenario analysis.
• Maintain reliable cash‑flow forecasts, monitor working capital and manage liquidity risks.
• Identify and mitigate foreign‑exchange exposure arising from receipts, payments, deposits and refunds.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, refunds and ensure robust financial controls.
• Track performance against budget, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a multi‑business environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.
• Excellent communication skills to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing finance teams.
