Groundworks General Foreman – North West

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Groundworks General Foreman to lead crews on civil engineering sites across the North West, primarily within the water sector. The role involves supervising multiple gangs, supporting Site Managers, and ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery of groundworks works.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate several groundworks gangs on water‑industry and civil infrastructure projects.
• Support Site Managers with daily briefings, site inductions, method‑statement roll‑outs and progress meetings.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts and risk & method statements.
• Oversee health and safety standards, including permits to work and compliance with SMSTS procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for deep drainage, pipe‑laying and concreting activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing gangs on civils projects within the water industry (e.g., water treatment sites or reservoirs).
• Positive attitude with a strong commitment to health and safety.
• Current CSCS, CPCS or NPORS certification.
• SMSTS (or equivalent) qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and confident IT skills.
