Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager drives core financial operations, statutory compliance and multi-entity accounting requirements, underpinning financial governance and reporting accuracy across daily, monthly and annual cycles. The role covers financial reporting, treasury, tax submissions and external audit processes, while supporting operational management and leadership reporting. It is a permanent position based in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily cash management by placing funds on call, review budget allocations and approve payments weekly, and approve leave and training submissions weekly
• Meet semi-monthly with the Office Manager on office operations and finance feedback
• Produce monthly management accounts, client invoicing, debtor management and finance presentations for the Deputy CEO
• Process monthly payroll, submit monthly VAT returns and reconcile accounts
• Manage monthly accounting for four small entities and calculate monthly FSCA financial soundness metrics, sub-lease calculations and advertising budget tracking
• Oversee quarterly dividends, DWT payments, loan repayments, client profitability reporting, StatsSA submissions and risk management meetings
• Complete bi-annual SARS EMP501, IRP5, provisional tax, FSCA liquidity and compliance CPD reporting
• Manage annual submissions to StatsSA, FASSET, Employment Equity, FSCA AUM and ASISA AUM, and oversee external audits across five entities
• Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, audited SARB reports, Return of Earnings and annual leave reports, and handle ad-hoc office management and subscriptions

Required profile

• Relevant graduate and postgraduate qualification
• 10+ years' experience as a financial accountant
• Proven regulatory and compliance insight from a financial and entity-wide perspective
• Strong expertise in financial accounting, reporting, payroll and HR functions
• Desirable: risk management and BBB-EE verification experience
