Finance Manager – Hospitality Group

About the role

The Finance Manager will oversee the full accounting and financial function for a division of a leading luxury hospitality management group. The role combines day‑to‑day financial operations with strategic budgeting, forecasting and decision‑support for senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records in line with reporting standards and Group Finance SOPs.
• Process daily financial data, including invoices and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, executive summaries and relevant journal entries.
• Reconcile cashbooks, bank accounts, payroll, VAT and monthly stock‑take reports.
• Ensure proper purchasing, receiving, stores and requisition controls.
• Develop the annual budget and monitor monthly spend against it.
• Produce monthly forecasts and maintain debtor/supplier ageing analysis.
• Coordinate year‑end audit activities with external auditors.
• Analyse business‑unit performance and recommend improvements.
• Participate in leadership feedback meetings and liaise with the Head Office finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (essential).
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of financial management experience, including at least 2 years in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of South African tax/VAT legislation and hospitality regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Excellent analytical, detail‑oriented and deadline‑driven mindset.
