Electrical Technician / Installer

About the role

Our client is an established company specialising in diesel power generation solutions, supplying generator sets, parts and associated services for residential, commercial and industrial applications. The role involves technical support, maintenance and installation of diesel generators at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, service and repair diesel generators.
• Perform load‑bank tests and diagnose any issues.
• Adjust voltage settings, re‑wire control panels and program generator controllers.
• Change filters, adjust speed controls and carry out standard servicing.
• Assist in the production, preparation for shipment and technical development of new generator models.
• Work overtime and be on standby when required.

Required profile

• Matric (or equivalent) with at least 75% in Pure Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy.
• Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical/electrical/generator work.
• Diesel mechanic or similar certification (Red Seal qualified preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport (company vehicle provided for field work).
• Strong communication, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

• Speed‑control tuning and filter replacement.
• Excel proficiency and generator‑controller programming.
• Familiarity with CRM best practices.
