Engineering Planner

About the role

We have a great opportunity for an Engineering Planner to join our growing team at Stibium Mining South Africa (Pty) Ltd. The company operates the Stibium Mopani Mine near Gravelotte in Limpopo, focusing on reliable plant performance and maintenance excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop weekly and monthly maintenance schedules and plan preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Prepare detailed work packs, including procedures, drawings, permits, tools, and spare parts.
• Coordinate planned shutdowns and plant outages, ensuring material and spares are available before work starts.
• Maintain and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and monitor maintenance backlog.
• Track maintenance KPIs such as plant availability, schedule compliance, MTBF, and MTTR.
• Liaise with operations, engineering, procurement, and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
• Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and recommend reliability improvements.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, health, environmental, and legal requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric Certificate with N4 Engineering Trade (Fitter, Electrical or Boilermaker) or National Diploma.
• Planning certificate is advantageous.
• Minimum 3‑5 years experience as a planner in a mining or industrial environment.
• Medically fit to work on a mine site and knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Competence in Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with MS Project for scheduling.
