Distribution Centre & Production Manager

About the role

The Distribution Centre (DC) Manager / Production Manager will lead the safe and efficient receipt, handling, production and distribution of packaging and labeling products. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures compliance with ISO standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and drives continuous improvement across operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all DC activities, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to ISO 9001 and OHS regulations.
• Plan weekly production and distribution schedules to optimise plant utilisation and meet service level agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage inventory through cycle counts and variance investigations.
• Control equipment availability, planned maintenance and operational reliability.
• Lead, motivate and develop the operations team through performance management and training.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production, SHEQ and performance reports.
• Manage distribution activities, dispatch administration and fleet maintenance to ensure timely deliveries.
• Identify non‑conformances, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive waste reduction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing a distribution centre or production environment, preferably in packaging or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and occupational health and safety legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large operational teams and improve process efficiency.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
• Experience with production planning and inventory control.
