Design Monitoring & Construction Assurance Manager

About the role

The Design Monitoring & Construction Assurance Manager will lead the technical governance of major civil infrastructure projects on site in Mokopane. This 24‑month fixed‑term position ensures that permanent works are delivered in line with approved designs, contract requirements and industry best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for design monitoring and construction assurance across multidisciplinary teams.
• Direct the design monitoring process, manage design changes, technical queries and engineering risks.
• Support the construction team by verifying compliance with approved designs and recommending practical engineering solutions.
• Lead stakeholder coordination between the contractor, construction monitoring team and design office.
• Oversee commissioning activities, testing, operational readiness reviews and project hand‑over.

Required profile

• National Diploma, BTech or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years post‑qualification experience in large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects.
• At least 10 years in senior engineering leadership, construction assurance or design coordination.
• Proven experience with bulk water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs or similar infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural codes, NEC contract administration and engineering quality management.
