Credit Controller (Property)

About the role

A recruitment consultant representing a client with an 80-year track record in managing residential, industrial and commercial properties is recruiting a Credit Controller in Cape Town. The role covers tenant accounts, collections, invoicing and lease administration.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries about debtor statements
• Produce accurate and timely debtor statements, reports and reconciliations
• Generate and check invoices for accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance
• Review municipal accounts and initiate actions for timely collection of outstanding payments
• Assist portfolio managers with account queries
• Load new tenants and leases into MDA and approve leases
• Prepare and analyse monthly arrear schedules
• Capture tenant receipts, scrutinise pre-billing checks and send tenant statements
• Liaise with the legal team on legal matters

Required profile

• Matric or relevant financial qualification
• Experience as a Credit Controller or similar role
• Ability to explain complex transactions clearly and interact with tenants; English required, Afrikaans beneficial

• Proficiency with MDA software (essential)
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Understanding of utility charges and tenant account management
