Candidate Engineer – Water (Entry Level)

About the role

AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team in South Africa is looking for an entry‑level Candidate Engineer – Water. You will support the design and delivery of water and wastewater pipeline projects, working under the guidance of senior engineers and contributing to high‑quality BIM models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams and BIM models according to discipline requirements.
• Produce and review drawings under supervision, ensuring compliance with project timelines.
• Use ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit for modelling and analysis.
• Collect and analyse information from interdisciplinary BIM models.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers to maintain design continuity.
• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Check model quality produced by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy.
• Attend client meetings to discuss requirements and present design solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA.
• 0‑2 years of experience in water and wastewater pipeline or network design.
