Business Development Executive – Clearing & Forwarding

About the role

Aviocean Natal is expanding its sales team in the Durban area. We are seeking a Business Development Executive to generate new business in the clearing and forwarding sector, build strong client relationships and promote our freight forwarding and customs clearance services across South Africa and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Grow and maintain a robust client portfolio within the logistics market.
• Identify and secure new opportunities in key trade sectors.
• Negotiate rates, prepare tender submissions and close sales deals.
• Develop proposals and deliver compelling client presentations.
• Collaborate closely with operations to ensure service excellence.
• Represent Aviocean as a trusted logistics partner in the market.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing new business in the clearing and forwarding industry.
• Strong knowledge of air‑freight import and export operations.
• Established network within logistics and supply‑chain sectors (advantageous).
• Tertiary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass ITC and criminal record checks.
