Branch Manager – Technical Service (Durban, KZN)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead its Pinetown branch and regional service network in Durban. This senior role combines technical service oversight with commercial responsibility, aiming to turn around a loss‑making operation and drive sustainable profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of service technicians, ensure optimal staffing, plan workloads and develop training programmes.
• Oversee branch administration, including maintenance contracts and payable service work, and maintain accurate workflow and reporting.
• Manage parts and inventory, maintain minimum stock levels, and control replenishment processes.
• Build strong customer relationships, drive satisfaction, identify new business opportunities and support equipment sales.
• Run the branch as a profit centre, controlling costs, growing revenue and tracking financial and operational KPIs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years managing a technical service branch or profit centre.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in costing, margins and profitability.
• Proven leadership of technical/service teams, preferably in after‑sales environments.
• Excellent operational and administrative skills with a track record of turnaround and growth.
• Mid‑career professional (approximately 10‑20 years total experience) with a customer‑centric mindset.

Required skills

What we offer

• Base salary R40,000 – R50,000 per month (depending on experience).
• Car allowance of R5,000 per month and a fuel card.
• Performance bonus linked to branch profitability.
• Provident fund contribution of 7% (compulsory).
• Medical aid contribution of 50% up to R2,500 per month.
