Sustainability Business Development Manager – Ballito

About the role

The Sustainability Business Development Manager will drive new producer member acquisition while shaping and communicating our client’s sustainability agenda within the circular economy ecosystem. This role blends commercial growth responsibilities with leadership of EPR compliance and impact narrative development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy to grow producer membership across EPR sectors, focusing on Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
• Identify, approach and secure new producer members, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers and brand owners.
• Maintain a robust pipeline, conduct professional EPR presentations and convert prospects into signed members.
• Onboard new members and manage referrals to achieve annual acquisition, conversion and revenue targets.
• Craft and maintain the client’s sustainability strategy, impact narrative and regulatory positioning.
• Translate EPR and circular‑economy requirements into clear stakeholder messaging.
• Advise executive management on sustainability trends, risks and opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development within the Electrical & Electronic Equipment sector.
• Strong understanding of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and circular‑economy principles.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage pipelines, deliver presentations and close deals.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
