Branch Administrator - Care Centre and Laboratory

About the role

Ampath is hiring a Branch Administrator to support the daily administrative functions of its Care Centre and laboratory. The role ensures seamless patient experiences, accurate data management, efficient specimen processing and compliance with operational requirements. It is a day shift, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Complete routine administrative tasks accurately, capture patient and test information on Meditech, update requisitions and run audit checks to correct data discrepancies.
• Print and act on error logs and outstanding reports, and report problematic requisitions.
• Maintain documentation, records and correspondence in line with operational requirements.
• Welcome and assist patients, help them complete Specimen Request Forms, check benefits, handle account and billing queries, process card and cash payments and generate pro forma invoices.
• Receive specimens, verify them against test requests, label and batch them according to protocol, and help deliver reports to doctors and wards.

Required profile

• Grade 12.
• 1-2 years of administrative experience in the medical field.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow procedures and policies and to handle confidential information discreetly.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and proficiency with IT systems and standard office applications.
• Meditech (mentioned in the duties).
