Auto Electrician – Trucks & Heavy Vehicles (Richards Bay)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join a well‑established commercial vehicle and fleet workshop in Richards Bay. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electrical and electronic systems on trucks, extra‑heavy vehicles and fleet assets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and repair electrical/electronic faults on commercial and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical procedures to locate faults, including CAN‑bus issues.
• Inspect, test and repair vehicle wiring, circuits, starting, charging and ignition systems.
• Service alternators, starters, batteries and vehicle lighting systems.
• Diagnose instrumentation, sensor and control module problems.
• Perform preventative electrical maintenance and complete accurate job cards and reports.
• Collaborate with mechanical technicians and workshop management while adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience with commercial trucks, extra‑heavy vehicles or fleet workshops.
• Background in a vehicle dealership, transport operation or heavy‑duty automotive environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a permanent, full‑time onsite role and start as soon as possible.
