Acoustic Consultant

About the role

AECOM is recruiting an Acoustic Consultant for its Enterprise Capabilities Environment team, based in Centurion. The role sits within a global network of over 3,000 technical professionals and involves no fieldwork, site visits or on-the-ground environmental measurements, so it is fully virtual. The hybrid model requires working from an AECOM office at least three days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Data processing and analysis of noise and vibration measurement surveys
• Calculation and assessment of environmental acoustics
• Computer modelling predictions and optimisations
• Preparation of technical reports
• Attending and taking part in project meetings

Required profile

• Relevant consultancy experience in environmental acoustics for a variety of project types and sizes
• MSc or BSc in Acoustics or a closely related science or engineering discipline
• Membership or associate membership in professional organisations such as IOA, ANC or ASA
• Proven ability to deliver client expectations to budget and timescale
• Excellent technical report writing, organisation and communication skills

Required skills

• Experience of acoustic prediction using spreadsheets and industry-recognised software
• Knowledge of acoustic assessments for transport and construction noise and building services noise control
