Senior Personnel Practitioner

About the role

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is seeking a Senior Personnel Practitioner to support organisational design, job evaluation and project coordination within the public‑sector HR function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide organisation design support and conduct organisational analysis.
• Coordinate and implement HR projects, including job evaluation processes.
• Engage with stakeholders and facilitate capacity‑building and knowledge‑transfer activities.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF 6) in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• Experience in organisational design, job evaluation or personnel management operations.
• Knowledge of public‑sector personnel management frameworks, policies, procedures and establishment administration.
• Familiarity with PERSAL, staff establishments and organisational structures.

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
• Project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Computer literacy, specifically the MS Office Suite.
