Senior Controls Assurance Consultant

About the role

As a Senior Controls Assurance Consultant you will work in an advisory capacity, helping clients improve their internal control environments and finance operating models. Based in our Amsterdam Assurance team, you will combine accounting, IT and finance maturity expertise to deliver practical, high‑impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on internal controls over processes that affect financial reporting.
• Investigate complex control issues, formulate recommendations and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Set up documentation and evaluate risk‑ and control frameworks at both entity and process levels.
• Review and test internal controls to support rationalisation or improvement of the control framework.
• Provide insights to enhance the finance‑operating model, increasing day‑to‑day efficiency.
• Assist in enterprise risk management evaluations, focusing on top‑level strategic risks.
• Collaborate closely with client teams and contribute to a range of advisory projects.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with IT aspects of finance processes and finance maturity assessments.
• Ability to analyse complex issues, develop recommendations and communicate them clearly.
• Proactive attitude towards client collaboration and continuous learning.
