Sales Representative

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven Sales Representative to join our dynamic team and drive profitability, growth and market penetration for Macsteel VRN’s steel product portfolio. You will be responsible for selling stainless, aluminium and carbon steel solutions to an assigned client base and market segment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of external sales, including customer calls, quotation preparation and order processing.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and follow‑up to ensure order completion.
• Achieve sales targets and collaborate daily with stores, operations, distribution and customers.
• Prepare quotes, costings and sourcing proposals; liaise with management on special, contract and standard pricing.
• Provide market intelligence, identify new business opportunities and work to increase market share.
• Maximise business unit profits and assist with periodic stock counts.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (Std 10) education.
• At least 5 years of external sales experience with key account management.
• Strong knowledge of VRN steel products (stainless, aluminium, carbon steel).
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and using CAD.
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and SAP.
• Excellent verbal and telephonic communication; team‑player attitude.
