Quality Manager

About the role

The Quality Manager will lead the development and implementation of the quality strategy for Metals Vanderbijlpark, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to internal specifications and customer requirements. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is pivotal in delivering safe, high‑quality products.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, business code of practice, and the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Provide leadership and support to departments for QMS implementation and maintenance.
• Lead risk assessments related to product safety, track mitigations, and verify improvements.
• Manage process capability studies for new and existing products.
• Implement and monitor control systems across the supply chain.
• Conduct instrument and testing equipment inspections and ensure timely calibration.
• Identify and manage quality projects to foster a zero‑defect culture.
• Drive operational excellence best practices to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Degree in Quality, Operations, Health Sciences, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 0.5 years of quality management experience in FMCG.
• ISO 9001 / FSSC 22000 internal auditor experience.
• Strong investigative, analytical and reporting abilities.
• Supplier management experience.
