Procurement Buyer – Electrical & Mechanical (Engineering Services)

About the role

The Engineering & Industrial Services client in Durban is looking for an experienced Procurement Buyer focused on electrical and mechanical components. You will support workshop and operational needs by sourcing, purchasing, and managing supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers for electrical and mechanical parts.
• Request, compare quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times and terms.
• Raise purchase orders, track deliveries and ensure timely receipt of materials.
• Assist with stock control, supplier performance monitoring and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the Storeman, Tool Stores and the Durban branch.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of procurement or buying experience.
• Experience in the electrical and/or mechanical field is advantageous.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English, clean criminal record and reliable work ethic.
