PRN Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) – Flexible Shifts

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) works on an inpatient unit delivering patient‑centered care to post‑surgical and medical‑surgical patients. This PRN position offers flexible, variable shifts—including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays—to meet staffing and patient‑care needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and operate relevant medical equipment.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, medication regimens, post‑operative care, and discharge instructions.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing, ensure accurate documentation, and adhere to infection‑control and safety protocols.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond to emergencies, and provide thorough hand‑offs between shifts.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives and discharge planning.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure and eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Ability to work variable shifts and respond to call‑ins as needed.
• Strong commitment to patient advocacy, confidentiality, and professional demeanor.
