Outbound Telesales Consultant - Life Insurance & Funeral Cover

About the role

Liberty is offering a 12-month fixed-term contract for an Outbound Telesales Consultant in Cape Town, working within the Liberty/Standard Bank ecosystem. You will connect with clients to sell protection solutions, mainly life insurance and funeral cover, managing the full sales cycle from first contact to closing the deal and meeting administrative requirements. The role balances strong sales performance with strict regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales of funeral and life insurance products through proactive telephonic outreach.
• Hold needs-based conversations with prospective and existing clients to identify their protection requirements.
• Explain product features, benefits and premium structures clearly so clients make informed decisions.
• Manage the end-to-end sales process, including accurate capture and submission of insurance applications.
• Maintain detailed records in the CRM system to track performance and compliance.
• Ensure all sales comply with FAIS regulations and internal operational standards.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of continuous experience in a target-driven outbound sales or telesales role, preferably in banking or insurance.
• A formal qualification such as a National Certificate in Banking (NQF 5) or another FAIS-recognised equivalent.
• Proof of meeting FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
• Proven track record of handling objections, keeping high conversion rates and hitting targets.
• Comfortable in high-pressure environments; success is measured by converting leads into active policies.

Required skills

• Strong technical aptitude for banking and CRM software.
• Excellent communication skills and resilience for high-volume outbound calling.
