Outbound Telesales Consultant - Life Insurance & Funeral Plans

About the role

Liberty is seeking a motivated Outbound Telesales Consultant for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. The role drives growth in the funeral plan and life insurance portfolios and sits within the Standard Bank Group ecosystem. It combines aggressive sales targets with strict regulatory compliance, and involves communicating complex policy details clearly to help clients make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage high-volume outbound campaigns and engage with clients by telephone
• Sell and cross-sell Life Insurance and Funeral Plan products
• Hold needs-based sales conversations to identify suitable financial protection
• Convert prospective leads into successful policy applications
• Explain policy features and limitations transparently
• Record client interactions, process applications and keep CRM data accurate
• Track and report sales performance against monthly targets

Required profile

• National Certificate in Banking (NQF 5) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the FAIS Act
• Meets the FAIS "Fit and Proper" requirements
• At least 12 months of continuous experience in a target-driven outbound sales or telesales role, preferably in banking or insurance
• Proven track record in a high-pressure sales environment

• Strong objection handling and persuasive phone communication
• Sales reporting, conversion rates and basic insurance product knowledge
• Ability to explain premiums, benefits and conditions clearly
