Metallurgical Plant Fitter

About the role

We are seeking a Metallurgical Plant Fitter to join Gold One Group Limited’s gold processing facility in Gauteng. The role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within the metallurgical plant to ensure optimal production and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform trade‑related maintenance and repairs on all plant mechanical equipment, including crushers, pumps, motors and belts.
• Implement and improve preventative maintenance programmes to optimise gold plant production.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, assigning corrective measures and following up on overdue actions.
• Work a cycle of shifts and be available for standby duties as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NQF4 qualification with N2 Trade Theory and a recognised trade test (Section 13 preferred).
• 5–7 years post‑qualification experience in a metallurgical gold plant or similar industrial environment.
• South African driver’s licence (Code 08‑10), South African citizenship and a clear criminal record.
• Strong interpersonal skills, independent judgement and the ability to work flexible hours.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Plant maintenance and mechanical equipment troubleshooting.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
