Merchandising Lead

About the role

Solenis is hiring a Merchandising Lead in Port Elizabeth. The role drives sales support and merchandising operations so that monthly call-route and sales targets are achieved, while growing revenue and optimising forward share.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate sales targets to merchandisers and drive sales support initiatives that grow revenue and achieve targets.
• Maintain a regular customer call route and build relationships with customers at all levels.
• Monitor sales daily using Salesforce.com and other tools, and drive ad-hoc promotions within the limits set by the Regional Sales Manager.
• Manage stock: check quality, rotate stock, limit out-of-stocks, control stock pressure, and optimise stock levels by monitoring slow and fast sellers.
• Keep product in store displays within designated accounts: transport goods between stockroom and sales floor, replenish, face out and rotate products, resolve inventory discrepancies, build and expand displays, maintain signage, clean product space and process damaged goods.
• Negotiate additional display space and help erect safe displays.
• Manage merchandising staff: accurate in-store administration, performance including time sheets, merchandising standards, dress code and other duties as assigned.
• Follow Trade Responsible Care: comply with safety rules, report accidents immediately, keep the work area clean and submit weekly training documents.
