Market and Pricing Specialist (Liquefied Natural Gas)

About the role

This senior position supports a major gas‑to‑power project by providing independent market analysis, pricing validation, and contractual risk assessment across the LNG value chain. The specialist will help drive informed investment and project decisions through rigorous commercial reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Review LNG and natural gas market fundamentals, pricing assumptions, and supply‑demand forecasts.
• Assess LNG sourcing strategies, pricing structures, benchmark references, and indexation mechanisms.
• Evaluate commercial arrangements for LNG procurement, shipping, terminal operations, and regasification.
• Analyse SPA, GSA, shipping and terminal agreements, focusing on risk allocation and contractual provisions.
• Examine pricing sensitivities, cost‑stack assumptions and their alignment with financial models.
• Review logistics, port infrastructure, terminal operations and contingency planning.
• Identify commercial risks related to counterparty credit, FX exposure, taxation, customs and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare commercial review reports, benchmarking analyses and recommendations for project decision‑making.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, finance and project development teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Energy Economics, Finance, Commercial Law, Engineering, Economics, Business or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in LNG markets, gas trading, commercial structuring or LNG procurement.
• Extensive experience in LNG, gas‑to‑power, energy infrastructure or IPP environments.
• Strong understanding of LNG sourcing, shipping, terminal operations and regasification commercial arrangements.
• Proven experience reviewing LNG pricing benchmarks, commercial models and cost‑stack assumptions.
• Knowledge of SPA, GSA, FOB, DES, take‑or‑pay, force majeure and related contractual frameworks.
• Familiarity with lender requirements, project bankability and commercial risk allocation.
• Awareness of regulatory, tax, customs, FX and compliance considerations affecting LNG projects.
