Maintenance Technician – Elevator & Escalator Service

About the role

KONE is seeking a service‑oriented Maintenance Technician to deliver professional elevator and escalator maintenance for customers in Cape Town. You will be the frontline expert ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently while providing proactive on‑site communication.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction through high‑quality service and precise, proactive on‑site communication.
• Report work performed accurately and in real time.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, site contacts, and end‑users.
• Manage the site environment during service operations and identify site risks promptly.
• Diagnose and perform unplanned repairs, obtaining approval when needed.
• Oversee PAR stock levels, handle inventory, and issue replenishment orders.
• Submit time‑sheets reflecting executed work.

Required profile

• Red seal trade test certificate as a lift mechanic, OR
• Completed NQF Level 4 certification with a minimum four‑year apprenticeship, OR
• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Diploma or Degree plus at least 12 months shadowing a qualified lift mechanic, OR
• Completed NQF Level 5 certification with at least 12 months shadowing a qualified lift mechanic.
• Good communication abilities and basic IT proficiency.
