Junior Software Engineer – Full Stack (C#, C++, Java, Python, Kotlin) – Remote

About the role

We are a bespoke software company seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our remote team based in Cape Town. You will quickly get up‑to‑speed with our codebase, support senior developers and the CTO, and contribute to building robust information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement software solutions using C#, C++, Java, Python and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with users and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Maintain and extend RESTful APIs following MVC architecture.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing, documentation and code reviews.
• Identify and troubleshoot problem areas, proposing improvements to processes and policies.

Required profile

• BSc (Honours) in Computer Science or related field, preferably graduated in the top 10% of the class.
• 0‑2 years of experience as a software engineer or full‑stack developer.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C#, C++, Java, Python and Kotlin.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and MVC pattern.
• Understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Familiarity with clean‑code principles and software documentation.
