Junior IT Field Technician

About the role

A leading national IT company based in Centurion is looking for an energetic and dedicated Junior IT Field Technician to join its technical support team. The role is full time and combines daily on-site travel to client sites with remote troubleshooting, delivering fast and reliable technical assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity problems on site and remotely via desktop tools.
• Assemble, install and configure computer systems, peripherals and internal hardware.
• Test and stage new or repaired hardware before deployment.
• Carry out routine cycle calls and preventative maintenance checks at client locations.
• Maintain, update and troubleshoot Windows and Linux systems.
• Record service visits, resolution steps and hardware inventory changes in the ticketing system.
• Act as a professional face of the company on site, giving clients clear updates and basic system training.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as an IT field technician.
• CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ (N+) certifications are strictly required.
• Valid driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle for daily travel.
• Proven hardware diagnostic ability and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for diverse client environments.

Required skills

• Windows and Linux operating systems (practical experience is highly beneficial).
• Hardware diagnostics and remote troubleshooting.
