Systems Compliance Analyst

About the role

The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) is seeking a Systems Compliance Analyst for a permanent position within its Compliance and Prevention unit, based in Pretoria-Centurion. The role applies technical knowledge to implement, monitor and improve compliance systems, registration and data reporting in line with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, No. 38 of 2001, as amended. Travel of 0-10% may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements from business units for enhanced compliance oversight.
• Implement and maintain systems and reporting frameworks for risk assessment and compliance monitoring, and develop diagnostic tools for predictive analysis.
• Develop and maintain data systems, reporting manuals and procedures, and collaborate with ICT teams on system controls such as access controls, encryption and logging.
• Monitor compliance status of Accountable Institutions, run on-site and desktop reviews, and perform goAML entity and user registrations.
• Verify the quality and regulatory adherence of information received from institutions, and assist with remediation tracking, including Directive 3A.
• Take part in compliance risk assessments, compare internal and external data, and investigate discrepancies and patterns.
• Prepare statistical reports, dashboards and typology reports, and profile cases and build predictive models.
• Analyse the impact of new regulations, advise management on reporting challenges, and give technical guidance to supervisory bodies and regulated institutions.
• Support audit evidence, implement fraud controls and risk prevention principles, and take part in cross-functional projects and skills transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years in information technology, information systems or computer science.
• 3 years in Microsoft SQL coding, 2 years in anti-money laundering monitoring, 2 years in compliance and prevention, and 2 years in Power BI or SSRS development.
• Certifications: Microsoft Data Analyst, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, and SAS or SQL certification.
• Knowledge of open-source intelligence collection, scripting languages, technical documentation, the FIC Act, Azure cloud platform, data storage and processing protocols, and AML/CFT/CPF protocols.
• Ability to pass reference checks and security clearance; preference for African or Coloured applicants and males.
