IT Software Tester

About the role

OUTsurance, a customer-centric financial services company, is hiring an IT software tester for its IT Development department in Centurion. The ideal candidate is passionate about testing, naturally inquisitive and comfortable navigating internal applications such as websites, portals and mobile apps. The role is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate across project development teams to test system modifications and functionality, delivering high-quality products at a fast pace.
• Compile test plans, present them to the testing group and take part in test plan reviews.
• Hold the space for quality within the development project team.
• Promote the adoption of new technologies and tools to improve testing results.

Required profile

• Matric.
• At least 24 months of mobile and web testing experience.
• Experience working in agile teams using Scrum and Kanban.
• Strong computer skills and working experience of MS SQL.
• Ability to interpret application error logs and understand API and mobile app branching strategies.
• Beneficial: IT qualification or studies, ISTQB certification, and exposure to test automation tools, test case management tools, C#, JavaScript, UiPath and Cosmos DB.

Required skills

• REST API testing via PostMan or Swagger (OpenAPI).
• Web testing tools such as Katalon, Selenium, Protractor or Cypress (beneficial).
• Test case management tool such as TestRail (beneficial).
