Solutions Engineer - Military Planning Software

About the role

Onebrief, a rapidly growing AI-powered workflow software company for military planning and operational coordination, is seeking a Solutions Engineer. The role sits at the intersection of product engineering, infrastructure deployment and compliance, requiring a deep understanding of secure architecture and the ability to meet stringent technical requirements. It is not a standard software implementation role.

The engineer acts as technical lead during the deployment lifecycle, ensuring solutions are operational and compliant with the security standards of military and defence-adjacent sectors. About 30% to 50% of the time is spent on-site with customers, taking part in exercises and overseeing field implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex customer workflows into stable, scalable technical architectures.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering and Cybersecurity teams so every deployment is production-ready.
• Run technical discovery sessions to identify user pain points and map existing workflows.
• Lead end-to-end deployment engineering, including infrastructure validation, network configuration and environment setup.
• Assist with accreditation by authoring and reviewing security documentation.
• Manage the technical scoping and integration of Onebrief Connect.
• Deliver product demonstrations and lead pilot deployments in new environments.
• Turn field experience into reusable implementation patterns and workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in solutions engineering or technical implementation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a technical field.
• Experience in military or defence (DoD/DoW) environments and a solid grasp of security-first infrastructure.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
